Internationally Educated Nurses
2010 RBC Diversity in Nursing Fund for Internationally Educated Nurses
Deadline for submission: March 31, 2010.
Administered by the Canadian Nurses Foundation, the RBC Diversity in Nursing Fund provides scholarships to Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs). These scholarships will subsidize the cost of bridging programs, including language training, enabling IENs to prepare for the necessary examinations to apply for licensure/registration as a Registered Nurse in Canada.
Eligibility criteria
The applicant must:

Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status

Be studying in Canada at a Canadian university or college

Have a letter from the Canadian academic institution, confirming that her/his credentials have been reviewed and that he/she would be eligible to apply for licensure/registration as an RN in Canada, if the specified additional educational requirements were met.

Have been accepted and registered as student of a re-entry nursing program offering the required educational components by September 2010.
Previous recipients who have completed two terms of their program are eligible to apply for third and fourth term funding if it is needed.

Complete in full the Application Form.

Complete in full the Appendix “A”: Education and print out three originals.

Obtain two references from any of the following three sources (a) Academic, (b) Work or (c) Volunteer Experience. The referees must complete the Appendix “B”: Referee appraisal on their computer, print it out for their signature and give it back to you in a sealed and signed envelope.

The 2010-2011 RBC Diversity in Nursing Fund for International Educated Nurses has a total value of $1,500.00 per term for a maximum of two terms per student.

Second term funding will be released upon proof of successful completion of the first term, and proof of registration and acceptance into the second term of the program for which the assistance was provided
First term: From September to December 2010
Second term: From January to April 2011
