Tecla Linn & Nelia Laroza Memorial Award

My first year of nursing was an experience that I will never forget. I conquered things that I never thought were possible for myself to accomplish as a first year nursing student. An excellent example is how I was capable of doing vitals, feeding and full morning care on a patient incapable of doing these things himself/herself. This experience only happened because I worked part-time for three years before university and full-time throughout the summer before entering university.  I saved all of my money in order to attend the nursing school at Thompson Rivers.

Receiving this award has decreased my stress levels and allows me to focus on the more important task, nursing. Caring for people is one of my best qualities and it puts joy in my eyes whenever I can help a patient out. If I can incorporate two of the things I love then I know I will become a positive and nurturing traveling nurse
