Noelle Lola

RBC Diversity in Nursing Fund Award

I am an Internationally Educated Nurse from the Philippines. I worked as an Emergency Staff Nurse for 2 years before I moved to Canada 4 years ago. Working in the Emergency Department (ED) was the best moments of my professional life. Now that I am here, one of my short-term goals is to get myself back in the ED as a registered nurse. Ultimately, I would like to make a difference in the field of Emergency Care by hopefully creating strategies that will improve the average of ED waiting times and quality of Emergency Care.

I am so thankful and grateful to be awarded the CNF RBC Diversity in Nursing Scholarship. It was a long and tough journey to get to where I am now. Winning this award fuels my strength to pursue my dreams in the nursing profession. With the challenges that life in Canada brings, it is sometimes easy to just give up on dreams. This award has given me the hope that I can be who I dreamed to be with the help of passion, hard work and determination. Thank you for this opportunity.
