Lindsay Sutherland Boal
For Canadian opera singer, cabaret chanteuse and actor Lindsay Sutherland Boal, life is a cabaret, and it suits her just fine.
Trained as an operatic soprano, Lindsay began her career on Canadian and international stages singing roles such as the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, earning praise for her “style and panache” (Opera Canada) and her “pure and powerful voice” (Winnipeg Free Press) and as a guest artist with the Winnipeg Symphony, Nova Scotia Symphony, Hamilton Philharmonic, and most recently alongside “classical musical greatest hooligan” Rainer Hersch, at the Royal Festival Hall in London, England.
An operatic engagement in Germany allowed Lindsay to further pursue her passion for the music of Kurt Weill and the Weimar Republic. This led to the creation of her first self-produced project: a one-woman, critically-acclaimed and award-winning show entitled Purely Cabaret touring Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver in the Canadian Fringe Festival.
As an actor Lindsay can be seen as the Interrogator in DB’s upcoming film PATROL, as Anonymous in TFS’s upcoming film Akashic Interlude. She is currently filming 3 other films to be released later this year. On the small screen Lindsay can be seen as a recurring character on Extreme Babysitting (YTV), Last 10 Pounds Bootcamp (Slice Network) and most recently on the new W Network Show Who Lives Here. Lindsay holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Brandon University) and Artist’s Diploma (Vancouver Academy of Music) in Vocal Performance, and has studied at the Janácek Academy of Music (Czech Republic), the Banff Centre for Performing Arts, Lyriche Opern Studio Weimar (Germany) and Caslamaggiore International Classical Opera Festival (Italy).
