CIBC Nursing Bursary
I’m Wassem Safi, a Bachelor of Health & Physical Education graduate from Mount Royal
University and a current nursing student at the University of British Columbia. With a passion
for human physiology and hands-on patient care, I bring a unique, interdisciplinary perspective
to nursing that blend evidence-based practice, physical wellness, and relational care.
My clinical experience includes caring for complex acute patients, including oncology and postsurgical cases, where I’ve honed my skills in time management, safety checks, medication
reconciliation, and critical thinking under pressure. Known for my leadership on the unit and my
ability to support both peers and patients, I thrive in high-acuity environments that demand
clarity, empathy, and precision. Motivated by personal experience supporting a loved one
through a life-altering chronic diagnosis, I’m dedicated to making a real difference in people’s
lives, one moment, one patient at a time.
