CNSA Clinical Care Award
My name is Gabrielle Daneluik, and I am a third-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing student at MacEwan University in Alberta. I became a nurse because of an interest in health and wellness, and a calling to help others and make a positive difference in people’s lives. Growing up, I was fascinated by health care workers who were able to combine sciences and knowledge of the body with the art of compassion and caring. When it was time for me to enter post-secondary studies, nursing was a natural choice. Initially, I completed my Licensed Practical Nurse diploma in 2018, began working in orthopedic surgery, then in community health, and have returned to complete my BScN degree. Becoming a nurse has allowed me to provide compassionate, holistic, and trauma-informed care to all persons, to work alongside and learn from amazing professionals, as well as travel and volunteer abroad. While off shift, my hobbies include reading, crocheting, running, dancing, travelling, and spending time with friends and family, including our family dog. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities nursing has brought to my life so far, and I look forward to serving others in new ways as my nursing skills, knowledge, and passion grow. I am very proud to be a nurse.
