Tylenol Canada Bursary
I have always wanted to make a difference in people’s lives but never knew exactly how I would do it. Nursing would allow me to do that in a variety of aspects. I want to do humanitarian work internationally, work on pediatric units and mental-health units, and last but not least I want to explore my heritage and help heal generational trauma in Northern Indigenous communities. I have various family members who work and have worked in diverse health care settings and they have encouraged me to do the same. After being in and out of the hospital with shoulder injuries I realized that nursing was the direction I wanted to go in. While I was doing
housekeeping at my local hospital, my coach’s mom was in palliative care. Every day I sat and talked with her so that she wouldn’t feel as alone. I know that I want to do that for the rest of my life and I will never get bored of it.
