New Brunswick Nursing Award
Early during my studies in nursing, I knew that being a critical care nurse was unequivocally what I wanted to do.
Shortly after my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, I completed the New Brunswick Critical Care Nursing Program (NBCCNP) and began my career in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). My experience in this clinical setting has made me aware of the many challenges faced by ventilated patients.
In an effort to improve nursing care for ventilated patients, I enrolled in the Masters of Science in Nursing program at the University of Ottawa. In the fall of 2017, I obtained my graduate degree, got certified in critical care CNCC(C) by the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA), and started a doctorate in nursing (PhD) at the University of Ottawa.
I thank the Canadian Nurses Foundation (CNF) and the Nurses Association of New Brunswick (NANB) for granting me this award to support my ongoing graduate studies in nursing.
