Vanna Kazazian

Sharon Nield Memorial Award

I am currently enrolled in my final year of Baccalaureate Nursing Degree program at Ryerson University. I have a passion for paediatric nursing and working with families. I have previously worked in my capacity as a nursing student as a Health Care Provider at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. I am now completing a Clinical Externship at the Hospital for Sick Children on the Neurology, Neurosurgery and Trauma Unit. Outside of my clinical initiatives, I am a nursing research student at the Hospital for Sick Children studying paediatric pain and am also the Secretary for the Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief (SOAR). My other extracurricular and volunteer initiatives include my participation in the Canadian Nursing Students’ Association (CNSA). I was previously the Co-ordinator of Education, Equity, and Professional Development for the Ryerson University Chapter and am now the Co-Director of the Ontario Regional Conference being held in October 2012 at Ryerson University. Upon my graduation in April 2013, I hope to work as a registered nurse at the Hospital for Sick Children. I hope to also be a clinical preceptor and to continue in my nursing research interests. I am very grateful for the support of the Canadian Nurses Foundation and the scholarship donors, whose generosity will make my future goals to advance the nursing profession and be a nursing leader possible.

This leads to a stronger, more robust healthcare system for Canada.

Your support today, on Giving Tuesday, empowers us to set ambitious goals, strengthen our resources, and show that our collective generosity fuels the next generation of nurses.
