Military Nurses Canada Award
Growing up, I spent much of my childhood in Africa and saw how poverty and homelessness affect families and individuals, including mine. As a child, I quickly learned how poverty and poor healthcare were closely related. I noticed tones and tones of illness that could easily be prevented if people had the slightest idea about what caused it and how to prevent it. I knew from a young age I would have to do something to help those underprivileged people worldwide (especially back home). This led to my pursuit of nursing as a career when l had the opportunity to relocate to Canada. My career as an RN has helped me in many ways with experiences in emergency care, continuous care, medical or surgical care, pediatrics, occupational, etc. I am currently working on my master’s in nursing to further my carrier as a Nurse Practitioner. My personal and professional aspirations are to become a successful healthcare practitioner who can provide care to various types of diseases and work for the World Health Organization (WHO) by providing care on a global scale.
