Merck Canada Doctoral Nursing Award
I became interested in pursuing a career in nursing because I wanted to help support people living with cancer. Nursing seemed like a great fit for me, given the unique role of nurses as the first point of contact for patients and families in the healthcare system. My interest in cancer care grew during my final placement as a nursing student in an outpatient oncology clinic, which inspired me to become a certified oncology nurse. Eventually, my passion for supporting optimal outcomes for people living with cancer led me to pursue graduate studies in nursing. My research aims to partner with oncology nurses, patients, and their caregivers to co-design strategies to better manage common and distressing cancer-related symptoms.
