RBC Diversity in Nursing Award
Currently, I am working as a nursing attendant in a Colorectal Surgery Unit. I enjoy working in the unit as I learn many things and it furthers my nursing experience. Taking care of patients and helping them alleviate their suffering makes me feel fulfilled in this profession. It is a challenging yet very rewarding experience! My future aspiration is to be a registered nurse working in the Medical/Surgical area specializing in care for adult clients. I intend to pursue Masters of Arts in Nursing and once given the opportunity, I would like to be part of the nursing management team focusing on primary responsibilities such as departmental planning; ensuring staff in the unit are adequate, budgeting of allocated health funds and managing the everyday operations in the unit.
I feel privileged and grateful for the award as it will enable me to focus on my studies. It will allow me to bring positive results in this endeavor as I will be able to devote more time and effort for learning. As well, I will be more able to pursue studies that will enrich my knowledge and skills so I can perform nursing procedures more competently. I pray that our God will always guide me to become a model in this nursing profession so that the patients, their families and the community at large will be touched my presence as their “angel” in the sick room making their lives even at least a little “extra better”.
