RBC Diversity in Nursing Award
I am Kristine Ando, a registered nurse from the Philippines currently pursuing my Canadian nursing profession. It is not an easy process for us international nurses to make our way into getting registered here in Canada. I started to work as a personal care worker when I arrived in November 2011, successfully obtained my LPN license, and am currently in the Bridging Program for international nurses.
I am very grateful for all the support of my instructors here and also the study awards made available for students to avail such as the RBC Diversity in Nursing Fund through the Canadian Nurses Foundation. This study grant not only helps me financially but it also inspires and motivates me even more towards my goal in becoming an RN here. I am beyond words to say how thankful I am for all the support. I am looking forward into getting back into my nursing profession to make a difference in the lives of my patients and their families.
