Rx&D Award
I have been a nurse for 14 years in British Columbia. I have been fortunate enough to have had a variety of different experiences caring for patients in critical care and emergency room settings. I have also had the opportunity teach and mentor new nurses. My current role in nursing is working as the Clinical Nurse Specialist for Critical Care.
A year ago I decided that I had more to offer patients, and decided to continue my career development by going back to school to become a nurse practitioner. I am passionate about nursing, and am excited that I have this opportunity. I am looking forward to being able to provide holistic care to patients with complex chronic health challenges, and I want to make a difference to those who live in my community. In this new role as a nurse practitioner, I will be a leader in healthcare and will hopefully be able to inspire my fellow nurses as well. This scholarship award will help me to fulfil my dream of becoming a Nurse Practitioner.
