RBC Diversity in Nursing Fund Award
When I first arrived in Canada from the Philippines in 2014, I had to face numerous challenges, but I believe in a saying that my friend once told me, “faith without action is dead.” My faith, despite the challenges that I am facing, motivated me to pursue my dreams of someday becoming a registered nurse in Canada. Currently, I am working as a licensed practical nurse, and while doing my bridging courses for my RN, I am also studying at Dalhousie University for my Master’s degree in nursing that focuses in health policy practicum.
My scholarship award from the RBC Diversity through the Canadian Nurses Foundation would not only help me financially, but it would serve as an inspiration to other internationally educated nurses to pursue their goals for as long as faith would lead them. I wish to extend my sincerest gratitude from my instructors from the RNPDC and Dalhousie for their unwavering support that they have shown to me. This award will inspire me as well to reach out my “healing hand” to care for the sick.
“Caring is the essence of nursing, and to care is to love which is the source of pure energy”
