CeraVe Skincare Scholarships for Diversity and Equity
I am Jenna, I am the first in my family to attend post-secondary education. I have always loved helping others and making a positive impact on people’s lives which led me to choose a career in nursing. Upon my last year of high school, I had a strong desire to work with women and children’s health. After being accepted into the University of Manitoba’s College of Nursing program, I was able to gain a deeper passion for this career and understand the true importance of providing care and support to those in need.
Throughout my ongoing university studies, I gained experience in many different clinical specialties. Some clinical placements that identified best with my nursing goals were my rotations within community health, labor and delivery as well as postpartum mother/child support. The passion I had for these placements led me to choose a career path focusing on the wellbeing of women, newborns and community members in need, as a public health nurse.
I am aiming to pursue a career as a public health nurse because I believe that everyone deserves access to good health and well-being. By working in public health, I can contribute to improving the health of many different members of communities in need as well as preventing diseases. I am excited to be part of a larger effort to create a healthier and happier society for everyone by advocating for better healthcare policies.
It is organizations like Canadian Nurses Foundation who help ease financial burden on students. I am honored to be considered for the Cerave Skincare Scholarship as this scholarship emphasizes diversity and inclusion. Thank you for designating me as a CNF scholar.
