Fiona Briner

CNSA Impact Award

Hi! My name is Fiona, I just graduated from the University of Ottawa and have recently moved back to my hometown of Langley, BC. I love hanging out with my dogs, being active, and doing anything outdoors like camping, hiking and paddleboarding. I decided to be a nurse because I grew up playing sports and I love learning how our bodies and minds work. I am really interested in pursuing additional studies to continue learning while also being able to work as a nurse and give back to the communities that I’ve grown up in. I recently completed my consolidation/preceptorship in the Special Care Nursery where I learned so many skills and got to work with amazing nurses who were incredibly helpful teachers. One thing I love about nursing is that there are lots of opportunities and I am eager to explore areas such as the ER, pediatrics, mental health, substance use/addictions, public health, as well as research and policy.
