Duanne Ibarra

Tecla Linn & Nelia Laroza Memorial Award

I am a registered nurse from the Philippines, currently finishing my RN Bridging Program in Registered Nurses- Professional Development Centre (RN-PDC) in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Education is paramount to achieve my dreams. I studied Bachelor of Science in Nursing in the Philippines, where I acquired extensive and essential nursing knowledge, skills and professionalism. With diligence and perseverance, I consistently became part of the Dean’s List in the entire length of the program. In my desire to pursue my dreams in Canada, I moved and studied in this great and extraordinary country which I now call home. I have furthered my education and studied Palliative Care in Niagara College Canada where I received honors award and scholarship. And in few weeks, I will be finished with my RN bridging program and finally, I will be able to commence realizing my dreams of rendering care and touching lives in this beautiful nation.

All of these achievements would not be possible without the generosity of donors. On behalf of the scholarship recipients, I would like to convey my utmost gratitude to everyone in CNF and all of the donors! Thank you so much and may God bless you all!

We know that helping nurses and nursing students is a team effort. This leads to a stronger, more robust healthcare system for Canada.

Your support today, on Giving Tuesday, empowers us to set ambitious goals, strengthen our resources, and show that our collective generosity fuels the next generation of nurses.
