Claire Betker, RN, PhD, CCHN(C)
Claire is a Registered Nurse and a certified Community Health Nurse. She began her career in rural Manitoba in a single-nurse public health office working with several rural communities and municipalities. Claire began practice more than 40 years ago and has worked in Public Health, Home Health and Primary Health Care at a local, regional, provincial and national level. Claire is currently the A/Executive Director of the Active Living, Population and Public Health Branch with the department of Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living.
Claire is, a past president of the Community Health Nurses of Canada, a founding board member of the Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba and currently is the president-elect of the Canadian Nurses Association. She recently completed a PhD in Nursing from the University of Saskatchewan, with a focus on public health leadership and health equity.
