NANB Masters Scholarship
My name is Stéphanie Brideau. I was born and raised in the Acadian Peninsula, a French-speaking community in Northeast New Brunswick. I am keen about social involvement and passionate about caring for people. As I grew up, I turned this passion into a profession.
Since 2017, I have been working as a nurse in my province, both in a hospital setting and in home care. I am also involved in research on palliative care nursing.
The quality of the care I provide to my patients is paramount and I feel blessed every day for the opportunity to help patients and their families manage their health. I always strive to improve myself and develop my skills. This is why I returned to school in 2022 in the Master of Nursing Program – Nurse Practitioner at the University of Moncton.
As a Master’s student, I decided to play a part in raising the profile of the nursing practitioner profession. During these 2 years, I had the opportunity to act as a student representative and a nurse practitioner student ambassador within the Consortium national de formation en santé.
I will be completing this journey soon and I look forward to becoming a health care provider and improving access to primary healthcare within my community. I love nursing and I am eager to discover what opportunities this profession has in store for me.
