My mom is one of the main reasons I chose to enter the nursing field. I had never considered nursing until she suggested it and encouraged me to apply in high school. I have always been passionate about science and people. The combination of these interests also guided me towards nursing, where I knew I could make a meaningful impact by serving others. I completed my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at UBC Okanagan.
Currently, I am a Registered Nurse pursuing a Master’s of Science in Advanced Nursing in the Global Health concentration at the Ingram School of Nursing at McGill University. My research focuses on maternal and child health, specifically exploring the interprofessional dynamics among healthcare professionals during the pregnancy and the postpartum period who care for women living in contexts of vulnerability. This area of study is crucial, as it addresses the complex dynamics and unique situations faced by healthcare teams who work with marginalized populations. My passion for global health drives me to seek solutions that can improve healthcare outcomes for mothers and children worldwide.
