TYLENOL® Fund to Advance Diversity in Nursing and Health Equity Research
Hello! My name is Eric Sinclair Mounga Fomo, originally from Cameroon. My journey to nursing has been shaped by a lifelong passion for helping others and a deep fascination with science. After completing a Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, I spent a year working as a lab technician. As someone who has always been engaged in my community, during this time, I realized that while I loved the scientific aspects of my job, I missed the human connection and the opportunity to make a direct impact on people’s lives.
This realization led me to pursue a career in nursing, where I could combine my love for science with my desire to provide compassionate care. Currently, I am a third-year nursing student and work as a Clinical Extern, diligently acquiring the knowledge and skills that will help me become a compassionate and competent nurse. Through my studies, clinical experiences, and recent job, I have learned the importance of empathy, patience, and resilience in providing quality care; and each day, I am inspired by the potential to make a positive difference in someone’s life.
I chose nursing because it perfectly blends my scientific background with my commitment to the well-being of others. While I am still on my journey to becoming a nurse, I am deeply committed to this path and excited about the future. I look forward to the day when I can fully step into the role of a nurse and make a lasting impact on the lives of those I care for.
I am immensely grateful for this scholarship, which will support me as I continue my education and work towards my goal of becoming a dedicated and compassionate nurse.
