CNF Diversity in Nursing Fund for IEN
My name is Emma Muindi from Kenya and currently a permanent resident of Canada. I have a BSc in nursing and master of public health from Kenya. I previously worked as a community health nurse and as a nurse Instructor. Ever since I was young, my mother who was a nurse inspired me to pursue a career in nursing. Her passion to care for the sick always touched my heart. I remember her waking up at night, sacrifising her sleep to attend to sick patients who came to the rural health facility at night whenever they had emergencies that couldn‘t wait until morning. I definitely saw her empathy and love for humanity and yes, I wanted to be like her. I moved to Canada two years ago and I‘m currently undertaking registered nursing bridging program in order to be licensed to practice as a registered nurse. I am very humbled to be awarded scholarship by CNF to pursue my dream in becoming a registered nurse in Canada. Upon graduation, I aspire to positively impact the health of Canadians by delivering competent nursing care to clients, families and communities. I am proud of being a nurse.
