CNSA Education Award

My name is Evangeline Van Vugt, and I am currently in my third year of nursing studies. I live in Nelson, British Columbia, a small but incredibly vibrant mountain town in the Kootenays. I’m passionate about many things in life, and some of my absolute favourite things to do include snowboarding, backcountry touring, hiking, bicycling, knitting, reading, and travelling. I also love my family and friends dearly and feel very grateful to have such inspiring, encouraging, adventurous, and hilarious people in my life. I chose to pursue nursing because of my interest in health and medicine, as well as out of a desire to work with people and make a genuine difference in their lives. I appreciate that within nursing I get to connect with and learn from so many incredible healthcare professionals and that I get to care for people when they need it the most. I’m very excited to continue with my studies and am filled with hope and curiosity as I get closer to beginning my career as a registered nurse.
