Johnson & Johnson Nursing Award
I chose to become a nurse because I enjoy caring for people and wanted a career where I could positively impact the lives of others. When in the hospital with my family, I witnessed how vital nurses were to the healing process, using their education, expertise, and compassion to improve people’s health. In addition, I was drawn to nursing because of the diverse opportunities and flexibility that the profession provides, with the ability to work anywhere in the world and in many different settings. I am passionate about promoting health and wellness and am proud of the health promotion initiative on health blood pressure I created and presented in my public health term. I am currently in my final year of nursing school at BCIT and am so thrilled to be starting my emergency nursing specialty courses in the fall. In the future, I plan to become a nurse practitioner and focus on primary care in the community setting.
