WeRPN Award in Nursing Excellence
I am deeply honoured to receive this scholarship as a second-year nursing student at Loyalist College. This support has played a meaningful role in allowing me to continue my studies while balancing full-time education with multiple roles in healthcare. Over the past year, I have worked in various positions while pursuing my nursing education and transitioning from Kingston to Belleville to continue my program. This experience has strengthened my resilience, time management, and commitment to my goals. This scholarship has helped alleviate financial barriers, allowing me to remain focused on my academic success and clinical development. My passion for nursing is rooted in my early experiences as a patient at SickKids Hospital, where I received care for severe asthma and underwent spinal fusion surgery for scoliosis. These experiences shaped my understanding of compassionate care and inspired my journey into healthcare. I went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Health Studies at Queen’s University, where I further developed my interest in health and wellness. I have always known that I wanted to pursue nursing, and returning to school to become a Registered Practical Nurse has been one of the most meaningful decisions of my life. This award has made it possible for me to continue my education, access essential clinical resources, and remain fully engaged in my learning. I am incredibly grateful for this support and for the opportunity to continue working toward a career dedicated to compassionate, patient centered care.
Sincerely,
Anastasiya Makenzi Stackaruk
