Frances Mary Stoddart Award
My name is Ashley, and I am passionate about nursing. I am a fourth year BSN student from the College of the Rockies, Cranbrook BC. From an early age, I have been drawn to the idea of helping others and making a positive impact on people’s lives. This innate desire, combined with my strong interest in the field of healthcare, led me to pursue a career in nursing.
Growing up, I witnessed the compassionate care provided by nurses firsthand when a family member fell ill. The dedication, expertise, and genuine concern exhibited by these healthcare professionals deeply inspired me. Their ability to comfort and heal patients during challenging times left a lasting impression on me, igniting a desire to follow in their footsteps.
As I embarked on my journey towards nursing, I pursued a rigorous academic curriculum to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills. I completed relevant coursework in biology, anatomy, and physiology, which provided me with a solid foundation for understanding the human body and its intricacies.
Through my experiences, I have come to appreciate the holistic nature of nursing. It is not solely about administering medications or performing medical procedures; it is about forming meaningful connections with patients, advocating for their well-being, and promoting their overall health. I am driven by the belief that every individual deserves compassionate care and support, and I strive to make a difference in the lives of those I encounter.
Obtaining this scholarship greatly assists me in achieving my goals. It will alleviate the financial burden of my education and allow me to focus on my studies and clinical experiences. With this scholarship, I will be able to continue my education and become a skilled, compassionate, and knowledgeable nurse, ready to make a positive impact in the lives of my patients and the healthcare field as a whole.
