Tylenol Bacc Award
My name is Asmaa, I come from Morocco, more precisely from Casablanca, a large coastal city located on the other side of the Atlantic. I am a newcomer to Canada and a single mother of two children. In Morocco, I worked for 10 years in the health field as a nurse in anesthesia and ICU, so once I arrived in Canada, I tried to have my experience recognized and to have the equivalence of my diploma but without success, so I decided to go back to school and to realize my dream of becoming a registered nurse and thus contribute to the well-being of my community.
At first it was difficult for me to make this decision, going back to school as an adult was a big challenge for me, I had to face many barriers, on one hand the language, the climate, the adaptation with a new learning system, and on the other hand my responsibilities as a mother of twins and student. Thanks to my perseverance and my ability to adapt, I was able to not only overcome these barriers but also to achieve a respectable academic performance.
By awarding me this scholarship, you have eased my financial burden, which will allow me to focus more on the most important aspect of learning. Your generosity has inspired me, I hope that one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have done for me
