Anita George Memorial Nursing Award
Tansi! My name is Brontë and I am a Métis woman currently residing in the traditional territories of the Snuneymuxw Nation. I have just completed my second year of the RN program at Vancouver Island University and for that I can say I am proud! What a year it has been. This September I will be completing my mental health rotation as well as my infant, child, youth, and family rotation (which I am tremendously excited for). For my chosen elective I will be taking the Douglas College Breastfeeding course for Healthcare Providers to become certified with the Canadian Lactation Consultant Association come January 22. I chose to become a nurse because I believe it is the best way that I can serve people with my strengths. My dream is to one day serve Indigenous communities in rural areas where help is most needed. Chi miigwetch for your support!
