Cassidy Alcrow

CINA/CNF Indigenous Award

Growing up I have always had a passion for helping others because it made me feel like I had a purpose. To this day, I still feel the same way, and caring for others is what gives my life purpose. I have always been caring and nurturing since I can remember. I was always around babies and children growing up and always did my best to make sure they were the happiest and healthiest. This is still the same for me to this day, as I now have two happy and healthy children who are my world.

Being a nurse means helping as well as feeling with other people, as everyone goes through tough decisions and events in life. There is nothing more heart-warming to me than knowing I can make a difference in other people’s lives. I have always been a very considerate and empathetic person who believes that everyone deserves quality care and being a nurse will allow me to put these characteristics and skills that I continue to learn each term, to use.

Nonetheless, I also aspire to become the best version of myself and being a nurse will give me that. Being a nurse means that there will always be continuous learning, advancement, and leadership opportunities. I want to be the nurse that helps in advocating for patients, collaborates with other health care professionals for patient centered care, all while learning new things daily.
