CIBC Nursing Bursary
My name is Charlon, and I’m a nursing student currently bridging from LPN to RN. I’ll be entering my final year this coming school term, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come.
My journey in healthcare started as a Health Care Aide (HCA), where I worked full time. I enjoyed helping people and being part of their care, and that inspired me to take the next step. While still working as an HCA, I enrolled in an online LPN program. It was a big challenge to balance both work and school, but I was motivated to grow and learn more.
At first, I didn’t think I would continue beyond the LPN. But after gaining more experience and confidence, I realized I wanted to do more for my patients. That’s when I decided to go back to school and bridge to RN.
I became a nurse because I care deeply about others. I want to support people through their hardest times and help make a real difference in their lives. Nursing is more than a job to me—it’s a passion and a purpose. I’m excited for what’s ahead and grateful for every step of this journey.
