CNSA Impact Award

Hi, my name is Cheltey Berlinguette and I am entering into my second year of the BScN program at Thompson Rivers University. My goal to work within the field of science and medicine has been of significant interest to me since early childhood. This aspiration has nurtured my endless ambition and desire to learn, collaborate, and succeed within a group of equally dedicated and enthusiastic individuals.

March 2020 marked the start of a major historic event, and since then the COVID-19 pandemic has remained prominent within the mix of local and global issues that continuously arise. Nevertheless, there was a moment amid this extraordinarily hectic time where I found a feeling of tranquility. After receiving my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine in July 2021, I sat in awe of the healthcare professionals in front of me. This feeling of serenity came from the realization that these individuals have dedicated their lives to the practice as they continue to work in the depth of this chaos to provide care to others. The essence of these professionals, along with their grace and confidence, radiated manners of strength, selflessness, and compassion. This inspiration has fueled my desire to become a nurse and emanate such a presence.

Nursing is an empowering and meaningful career and I strive to better myself as I pursue this profession. Furthermore, as I work towards achieving this goal, I seek to continually develop my professional attitude and prove my determination and dedication to those around me. I hope by fulfilling my aspirations I can assist our local and surrounding communities by providing support and comfort to all who may need it.
