I was drawn to the nursing profession for many reasons. I knew I wanted to work with people and I was drawn to the medical field as I am a naturally curious person. After working in long-term care as a health care aide in high school, I decided nursing would be a good fit for me. I have never regretted my decision. Nursing is a profession that allows me to be inspired by my patients and colleagues on a daily basis, and a career that gives me the opportunity to always be growing as a person as well as a professional. I have been especially lucky to have spent most of my time as a Registered Nurse in the specialty of oncology. I have been fortunate to work in both outpatient and inpatient oncology settings and have had the honor of walking alongside patients and survivors in their cancer journey. I can’t imagine doing anything else.
