Extendicare Nurse Practitioner Scholarship

I chose to become a nurse to have an impact and empower others. As a paediatric patient, I gained respect and trust for nurses and aspired to mimic the impact they had on me. I am currently enrolled in the Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner program at Ryerson University and will graduate in the summer of 2022. I have had a rich and fulfilling nursing career and in my eight years working in acute care, emergency departments and in intensive care, I have developed a passion for providing high-quality care and empowering individuals, especially at the end of their lives. As an organ donation coordinator in the greater Toronto area, I have helped implement and lead a new program for organ donation that has yielded new opportunities for patients to become organ donors which will save more lives every year. I am proud to support and empower patients through their care across the lifespan, and I look forward to continuing these endeavours as a nurse practitioner.
