Gregory Reid

CNSA 2SLGBTQ+ Award

My name is Greg Reid (he/him), I am currently in my third and final year of the accelerated BScN program at Western Regional School of Nursing (Grenfell Campus, Memorial University of Newfoundland). I chose to pursue nursing because of my love for helping people. I could never really pinpoint how I wanted to accomplish this love but after starting this program I have realized that nursing is indeed my passion. I have family members and good friends who are nurses, but I never really understood or had the knowledge to appreciate the role of the nurse in the care of clients nor did I understand the vital role nurses play in healthcare. This all changed through excellent instructors, clinical leaders, and clients themselves. To be short, I have had such great experiences as a student nurse that I now cannot wait to be a registered nurse. I would like to eventually become an ICU nurse and help care for critically ill people.

This scholarship from the CNF, the CNSA 2SLGBTQ+ Award, will be a great help for me during my final year of studies and preceptorship. I would like to thank them greatly. I am proud to be a CNF scholar.
