Megan Coles

CNSA Global Nursing Student Award

My name is Megan Coles, and I am entering my fourth and final year of the Bachelor of Nursing Degree at the Centre for Nursing Studies in Newfoundland. Throughout my degree, I have received numerous awards for my academic excellence and extracurricular involvement. To be specific, I am most proud of being recognized for my outstanding success in the field of nursing at the community, provincial and national level. I am a volunteer with Eastern Health, an Advanced Medical First Responder with St. John Ambulance and a Shinerama Coordinator. Furthermore, I recently completed a Global Brigades TeleBrigade and I joined the Canadian Nursing Students Association as an Associate Delegate. To continue, I am most interested in pediatric nursing care and as such, I am an Associate Student Officer with the Canadian Association of Pediatric Nurses. I am excited to be involved with advancing pediatric nursing. Finally, I chose to become a nurse because I love helping others and because of my interest in the healthcare field. I thoroughly enjoy being at the bedside and building relationships as I care for my patients. Finally, I would like to thank the Canadian Nurses Foundation for their financial support in my academic endeavours.

This leads to a stronger, more robust healthcare system for Canada.

Your support today, on Giving Tuesday, empowers us to set ambitious goals, strengthen our resources, and show that our collective generosity fuels the next generation of nurses.
