I decided to pursue nursing after graduating high school, but at first, I wasn’t sure if it was the right path for me. That changed during my first theory of nursing class where I discovered the true meaning of caring and holistic care. I learned that nursing is not only about treating illness but also about understanding people as whole beings, considering their emotions, experiences, and unique circumstances. I was inspired by the idea of becoming both compassionate and competent, providing care that touches live in meaningful ways.
After graduating in 2018, my journey took an unexpected turn when I became a mother to my first child that same year, followed by two more in the next two years. I chose to pause my nursing career to focus on raising my young children, a rewarding yet challenging decision.
Determined to reignite my passion for nursing, I began self-studying while caring for my family. In 2023, I passed my nursing exam, regained my Alberta RN license, and pursued additional certifications to enhance my skills. To strengthen my knowledge and confidence, I enrolled in the Bridge to Canadian Nursing Certificate Program in Fall 2024, completed my final placement in July 2025, and will graduate in November 2025.
This journey has shaped me into a more resilient, empathetic, and committed nurse, and I am excited to continue my dream of making a difference through nursing.
