Tylenol Canada Bursary
My journey in healthcare started when I studied midwifery in Iran. I loved supporting people in some of the most vulnerable and meaningful moments of their lives. But when I immigrated to Canada, everything changed. I had to start all over again—in a new language, in a new culture, and far from family.
At the time, I was not only a student, but also a wife and the mother of a six-year-old son. Balancing these roles while trying to rebuild my professional life was incredibly difficult. There were days I felt exhausted, overwhelmed, and full of doubt. But I held onto one thing: my passion for caring.
I chose nursing because I believe it combines science, compassion, and advocacy. Nurses are often the first to notice when someone is being left behind—whether it’s due to poverty, mental illness, immigration, or gender identity. I want to be the kind of nurse who doesn’t just do tasks, but who listens, supports, and speaks up for those whose voices are often ignored.
This scholarship will help ease my financial stress and allow me to focus on becoming the kind of nurse Canada truly needs—one who values equity, diversity, and humanity at the core of care.
