Pari Kyars

TYLENOL® Fund to Advance Diversity in Nursing and Health Equity Research

Hello! My name is Pari and I am a first-year student in the Nursing After Degree Program at the University of Alberta. I was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta and have grown to appreciate where I come from. My previous degree was also taken at the University of Alberta, and I received a Bachelor in Kinesiology with an Adapted Physical Activity major. Coming from my previous degree, I learned that I enjoy one-to-one time with clients, and I strongly value assisting others to achieve their goals through a holistic and person-centered approach. Nursing has aligned well with my core values, and I have yet to explore the many avenues the field has to offer. Outside of academics, I have volunteered off-campus with a distress line and sexual assault centre and on-campus as the representative for my cohort. I am a former rugby athlete who has transitioned to coaching, and I continue to maintain my fitness through weightlifting and cardio training. Lastly, I like to explore cafes and restaurants to try new foods and drinks either on my own or with family and friends. All in all, I am thrilled these experiences have taken me to where I am now, and I look forward to continuing my nursing journey, especially with one more year until graduation!

Giving Tuesday has become a global movement for giving and marks the beginning of the giving season for your favourite causes. Thank you for joining Canadian Nurses Foundation today as we celebrate our 10th annual campaign. Double your gift today!

We know that helping nurses and nursing students is a team effort. More qualified nurses, more nurse-led research, more nurses and nursing students supported with mentoring and proactive mental health programs and training – that’s the outcome of your support. This leads to a stronger, more robust healthcare system for Canada.

Your support today, on Giving Tuesday, empowers us to set ambitious goals, strengthen our resources, and show that our collective generosity fuels the next generation of nurses. Let’s make this year’s Giving Tuesday our most impactful yet, proving that our collective kindness can create lasting change.
