CIBC Indigenous Nursing Scholarship
I am an Innu clinical nurse from Mashteuiatsh who grew up outside my community. I am currently a Master of Science in Nursing student specializing in thesis research, my project focuses on the help-seeking process of families of 2SLGBTQIA+ adolescents experiencing suicidal distress. Through this research, I hope to contribute to the development of care practices tailored to the needs of these families.
My personal and academic commitment is rooted in an intersectional, decolonial feminist perspective, deeply committed to social justice. I am driven by the desire to create care spaces that recognize and support 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and their families.
Through my own journey, I strive to combine clinical knowledge, research findings, and Indigenous knowledge to support concrete change in how nursing care is delivered to marginalized individuals and communities.
