CNF Diversity Award
I remember 15 years ago when I attended the oath-taking ceremony to become a Full pledge Registered Nurse in the Philippines. I pledged, at all times, that the professional standards would guide me in delivering safe and quality healthcare to my patients.
As an Internationally Educated Nurse, I have extensive work experience in Geriatric care, Emergency, Medical, and Surgical cases. Combination of non-clinical and clinical experience in the Philippines, KSA, USA, and Canada (BC, NS, and NB).
The National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS) is another pathway to becoming an LPN/RPN or RN here in Canada. But I decided to take the whole Practical Nurse Program at NBCC-St. Andrews to refresh my theoretical and clinical skills. While studying, I also processed the NNAS.
In March 2022, I took the Regulatory Exam-Practical Nurse for the College of Nurses of Ontario. Fortunately, I passed it and processed my registration with the CNO.
In April 2022, I got my registration from the CNO as a Registered Practical Nurse. Then, I processed to transfer my registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario to the Association of New Brunswick Licensed Practical Nurse. The same month, I got my license from the ANBLPN as an LPN.
My application to the Nurses Association for New Brunswick to become a Registered Nurse is still in progress.
I decided to finish my Practical Nurse Program until December 2022 while working as a Casual/Part-Time LPN.
Helping and taking care of people is my passion. That’s why I became a Nurse.
