Award Recipient

Robin Kroeker

Nova Scotia Nursing Award

I am grateful to have been chosen as a recipient of a Canadian Nurses Foundation Student Scholarship. I am currently completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing through the Advanced Standing program at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS. I will be graduating in October of 2025. I have always been an empathetic person who sought to care for others. Before entering the Advanced Standing program at Dalhousie University, I worked as an allied health professional in a rural community in British Columbia as well as in Halifax, NS. I decided to retrain as a Registered Nurse because I want to have a broader scope of knowledge to better support the comprehensive health of patients and their families. I hope to bring my knowledge and skills from my background, as well as my current education, to my future patients.

I believe that as a Registered Nurse I can have a positive impact in my community. My husband and I have recently purchased a home in the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia and I am looking forward to living and working in a rural community where nurses are in high demand. Having previously lived and worked in rural communities in British Columbia, I am looking forward to returning to a more relaxed lifestyle with my husband, dog, horse, and future friends and family.

Giving Tuesday has become a global movement for giving and marks the beginning of the giving season for your favourite causes. Thank you for joining Canadian Nurses Foundation today as we celebrate our 10th annual campaign. Double your gift today!

We know that helping nurses and nursing students is a team effort. More qualified nurses, more nurse-led research, more nurses and nursing students supported with mentoring and proactive mental health programs and training – that’s the outcome of your support. This leads to a stronger, more robust healthcare system for Canada.

Your support today, on Giving Tuesday, empowers us to set ambitious goals, strengthen our resources, and show that our collective generosity fuels the next generation of nurses. Let’s make this year’s Giving Tuesday our most impactful yet, proving that our collective kindness can create lasting change.
