Award Recipient

Sarah Bailey

CNSA Disability/Diversability Award

My name is Sarah Bailey, and I am a third-year student in Langara College’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program. I am currently completing my pediatric and maternity rotations, and in the fall, I will be starting my community and mental health placements. Through my clinical placements, I’ve developed an interest in harm reduction and high-acuity care. As a registered nurse, I hope to positively impact my community by helping to reduce healthcare disparities and supporting acutely ill patients with complex health challenges.

Although my neurodevelopmental disorder can make nursing school challenging to navigate, my Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) has served as a constant source of motivation throughout the program. My learning disability reminds me that we are not defined by our disorders or health challenges, allowing me to be a more compassionate and understanding student nurse.

Thank you for selecting me as the recipient of the CNSA Disability/Diversability Award. This scholarship will allow me to continue focusing on my studies and reach my goal of becoming a registered nurse in a high-acuity or critical care unit.
