Sanofi Pasteur Limited Scholarship in Public/Community Health Award

I pursued a career as a registered nurse because I enjoy working with people and realize I want to be in a role which will ultimately improve the well-being of my community. I have the opportunity to work with people from all walks of life and in varying stages of their journey in health. Working alongside families in their healthcare experience allows me to make a difference in a meaningful way. The reward in knowing you can help a patient and their family through a health challenge is incredibly satisfying. In addition to the endless contexts in which a nurse can optimize the health and well-being of a person and their family, nursing offers me variety in my work while continuously challenging my knowledge and critical thinking. I am a firm believer in life-long learning and a career in nursing provides the perfect platform to do this. Out of a desire to provide more access to healthcare for populations in my community, province, and country, I decided to pursue a Master in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner. I am halfway through this program and extremely excited about where this new role as a nurse practitioner will take my career and myself!

We know that helping nurses and nursing students is a team effort. More qualified nurses, more nurse-led research, more nurses and nursing students supported with mentoring and proactive mental health programs and training – that’s the outcome of your support. This leads to a stronger, more robust healthcare system for Canada.

Your support today, on Giving Tuesday, empowers us to set ambitious goals, strengthen our resources, and show that our collective generosity fuels the next generation of nurses. Let’s make this year’s Giving Tuesday our most impactful yet, proving that our collective kindness can create lasting change.
