Frances Mary Stoddart Award

I was raised in Edmonton, Alberta with a deep passion for the sciences and healthcare. Growing up, my mother, a Registered Dietitian, inspired me. My mother’s passion for promoting others’ health paved the path for me, leading me into the nursing profession. Now going into my fourth and final year of my Bachelor of Science in Nursing Honors degree, I can say that I have chosen the perfect career for myself. This journey has been challenging and extremely rewarding. Through my nursing practice, I have utilized my passion for the sciences and healthcare to support and improve the health of my patients. The nursing profession has allowed me to care for individuals during their most vulnerable times, from caring for their newborns to providing comfort and support during illness. I look forward to graduating to become a Registered Nurse, where I will continue to progress my practice as a nurse and, in the future, become a Nurse Practitioner. I am grateful to receive the Canadian Nurses Foundation award as it supports me in pursuing my dream profession.
