Tylenol Bacc Award
My name is Tamasha Hussein, and I am a nursing student at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver campus. I chose to pursue nursing because of my desire to impact people’s lives positively. Before nursing, I always sort out opportunities to serve others in a more practical, hands-on way in my local community. I have expanded my knowledge about the healthcare system, clinical skills, advocacy, and leadership in the nursing program. I learn something new every day in the classroom, in the labs and the clinical; the best part of this whole experience is the interactions that I have with patients who constantly challenge and ignite a new way of thinking and growth in me, which I am always grateful for and could not have asked for anything better! My ultimate aim in health care is to foster a system that is equitable to everyone regardless of their social demographics. Thank you to the Canadian Nurses Foundation (CNF) for granting me this opportunity.
