My passion for nursing began long before I ever wore scrubs. As a young child, I spent time in the hospital due to illness. The care I received left a deep and lasting impression. I remember the kindness in the nurses’ voices, and the way they made me feel cared for when I was ill and scared. That experience planted a seed in me; one that has grown into a lifelong calling.

Years later, working as a Health Care Aide in a nursing home confirmed what I already felt in my heart: I’m meant to care for others. I saw firsthand how small actions, such as simply listening, can make a profound difference in someone’s day. I found deep fulfillment in those moments, and I knew I wanted to do even more.

Nursing gives me that opportunity. It allows me to combine my love for learning with my desire to serve. Every patient I meet is a reminder of why I chose this path. Everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and cared for with compassion.

I’m incredibly grateful to my instructors at Aurora College for their invaluable role in molding me into a future Registered Nurse, and for their unwavering kindness and support. I’m also deeply thankful to the Canadian Nurses Foundation (CNF) for selecting me as an award recipient. As a proud CNF Scholar, I’m excited to continue growing, learning, and giving back through my work.
