John Vanderlee Award
Growing up in a household where education is highly regarded, I realized the value of pursuing a post-secondary education. I am the first of my siblings to attend a university, and I hope to set a fine example for my younger brother and sister. By working hard, pursuing excellence in my learning, and being involved in my community, I have been able to serve as a positive role model for my siblings.
I am in my third year of Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, and my GPA is 3.94. Also, I currently work as an Employed Student Nurse at Royal Columbian Hospital Neurosurgery ward. I intend on completing my BSN degree by August 2016. Upon completing my degree at UFV, I hope to work in Fraser Health Facilities where I have been gaining my clinical and work experiences.
By awarding me the CNF John Vanderlee Scholarship, you have lightened my financial burden which allows me to focus more on the most important aspect of school, learning. Your generosity has encouraged me to continue to strive for excellence in my practice whether it is working harder to provide quality care for my patients or to diligently study theoretical content to better my nursing practice. I hope one day I will be able to help future students achieve their goals just as you have helped me.
I would like to thank the donors for their time and support. My short-term goal of being a Registered Nurse and future aspiration of being an Emergency/Trauma Nurse is in my reach with your assistance.
