TD Aboriginal Nursing Fund Award – Baccalaureate

I am writing to thank you and let you know how grateful I am for being awarded this scholarship from the TD Aboriginal Nursing Fund Award. This scholarship will help me further my academic achievements while progressing through my schooling.  The support will reduce my struggles financially and relieve my anxiety about finding money to continue paying for books, supplies and transportation.

I feel after my first year in BScN I wasn’t able to solely focus on just my nursing classes or even fully on my patients during clinical because I stressed about work conflicting with my studies. This award will create less stress in my daily student life and give me more time to focus on my classes and clinical during my second year of nursing.

In the future, I plan to work with indigenous communities and in particular I am very interested in working with at-risk children, youth and young adults. I have witnessed the harsh living circumstances that youth in the north live in and relate to the isolation that so many experience. Getting this financial support helps makes dreams come true, as it will help me become the best nurse I can be. Thank you so much so for this scholarship.
