CNSA Global Award
I am entering my third year of the BScN at the University of Saskatchewan College of Nursing in Regina. I have always wanted to pursue a career in the health and sciences, but I was unsure of whether I wanted to work with people or animals. The event that allowed me to decide to pursue a degree in nursing was when I travelled to Tanzania for volunteering experience. It was the opportunities that I got to be a part of in Tanzania that made me truly realize my passion for nursing, through working with vulnerable populations and as well as working within the communities.
I have always had an inclination to help people in need as well as a passion to travel and experience parts of the world and expose myself to other cultures abroad. I realized through my experiences that nursing would be the perfect profession for me to pursue so that I could fulfil these interests. I love that with a nursing degree you have endless possibilities to advance your career, and have the opportunity to work in diverse environments and with individuals locally and/or abroad and build connections and relationships with your clients.
I would like to thank the Canadian Nurses Foundation sponsors for awarding this scholarship to me and allowing me to pursue my passion for nursing. I look forward to my future career as a nurse and all the knowledge and experiences it will provide me.
